Sirs,

I picked up a Leinbach L7400 PHD with 12” auger from an equipment yard for $525.00 out the door. I made the guy promise to take it back if it didn’t fit my B7610. I needn’t have worried. As the photos show, it fits just fine. In the full up position there is 12” of clearance.

I couldn’t resist the temptation to try and dig into our frozen ground. Surprisingly, it dug right in and I had two holes dug in nothing flat. Didn’t take me long to realize I have been digging holes the wrong way all my life.

The B7610 has two holes in which the top link can be mounted, an upper and a lower. When the PHD is mounted in the upper, there is about 8” of clearance. The lower hole gives 12”

The end.

Nice PHD B and thanks for posting, I've been eyeing one of those for my 7610 and it's nice to see how it fits and works.
BTW, it was nice to see some dirt on your tractor on the top link closeup, you keep that thing spotless! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Mo,

Glad you liked the pics.

I see that you are using the 4672 BH. Do you know if it is possible to use the hoe if you are also using a MMM?

Thanks,

I'm getting smarter.

Leinbach PHD, what are the models/sizes? Found the website and can't find info on the 7000 series.

Bo,

I have to plead ignorance with respect to the Leinbach model numbers. I know that the manual I have is for the 7200, 7300 and 7400 models. I can't tell what the differences between them are.

I can tell you that the eyeball test would indicate that the 7400’s are somewhat beefier than the units they sell at TSC. By that I mean that the gear box is larger, and the rest of the unit bulkier.

That's the extent of my PHD expertise.

I have the same Leinbach PHD on my B6100 - a bit smaller frame than your 7610.

I have found that when I lift the turning PHD clear of the hold to spin off the dirt it oscillates wildly because of the acute angle of the U-joint at the top by the gear box.

Do you have the same problem? From you pictures it looks like we have about the same angle between the PTO shaft and the gear box.

Bill,

I have drilled a grand total of two holes, so I'm really not sure. It seems like things were flopping around a bit, but then I have nothing else to compare to.

Do you find this hinders you ability to use the thing, or is it just an annoyance?
