B7500 shaft cover

Hi.just recently had the front 4x4 shaft with the for lack of a better description u joints replaced.goes from front of the transmission to th front axle .well the mechanic forgot to put back on The cover that goes over the shaft .how important is it.thanks

The cover on the trans or the cover on the front axle?

The front cover (from the trans to the front diff is important. I'd have him replace it on his own dime. Not that difficult really as it slips over the driveshaft once the coupler is removed.

You need to switch mechanics or learn to do stuff yourself.

In my view, he's a shoemaker.
