First I'd like to thank the people who replied to my query. I appreciate your opinions. Everyone agreed that the B7800 would be the best tractor. So in perfect form I decided to get the B7500 and some implements.

Mainly I needed a Lawn Mower and the B7800 is a bit bigger and cannot use a 54 in mower. I am really limited to 54 in even then I scrape the ground alot. That situation is improving but would be exacerbated by a 60 in mmm.

I guess the dealer straightened me out on the any B running my 5 ft Hog. It is way to heavy for such a small tractor. Remember It was bought for a 48 HP Compact. The same goes for the tiller. The 5 ft B-series tiller is about half the weight of my tiller.

So in the interest of not killing a good tractor I opted for the B7500 and a 4ft light duty cutter and 4 ftlight duty tiller.

I can use the M 6800 to run the Heavy duty cutter and the Big tiller.

The B7500 also has cruise control and a two speed pto. For the guys who run tillers they know why that is nice.

I realize I am giving up alot of HP but I do have several tractors up to 68HP, so I'm not to worried about being under powered.

Thank you again very much for the advice.

Good luck, and don't forget to ask about multi unit discounts.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the B7500. Mine has been a workhorse and extremely reliable. I think a lot of us are envious of your position.... a tractor for every occasion. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

good choice on the tractor but to make sure u understand the 2 speed pto means that one speed is for the rear pto and the higher speed is for the frnt pto. OR did they change something /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Are you going to get the HST or the gear drive? I've got the HST and love it. I've had mine for 4 months now and it's come in handy for everything. I've even used mine to put up the x-mas lights on the front of the house last month with the FEL. I'm going to get me a 5' RFM soon just in time for summer.

2 speed PTO on B7500

Hey Again,

Frank thanks for the reply. The 2 speed PTO is in the rear. It's a 540/960 so at low engine rpm you still get high pto revs. It's nice when you want to go very slow like when tilling soft ground to get a good fluff. You go slow so low engine rpm and that means low pto rpms. The 2 speed allows for 540 pto at roughly half the engine rated speed. Very handy. I don't know why they don't offer it on the others.

You know making up your mind is a funny thing. I thought I had it all done and then I get to thinking. Bad choice of words in my case. Let's say i get to stewin'.... So I'm worried if the B7500 will be good at mowing High Grass with the 54 in deck. As in does it have HP enough.

So thanks again for the guys who think the B7500 is ahead. Incidentally I paid $14700 for the tractor with 302FEL and 54 in deck and Ice chains. Here in Norther VT they are handy.

Thanks again

AJP

I\'m getting the HST

I am getting the HST.

I like the HST alot. Plus anyone can drive a hydro.

On the M6800 I had to get the Hydraulic Shuttle, which is OK but a full hydro is better for my loading applications. Of course the M6800 is so much stronger than the JD4700 I traded(I kept one for sand and gravel loading) I don't mind getting used to shifting the trans.

Congrats!

Your gonna love it, sounds like the perfect orange tractor for your needs. Good job on listening and research.

No, for some reason, the B7500 actually has a two speed rear PTO unlike the B2410/2400 and most other modern tractors. There have been several discussions of this as to what implements would use it and so forth. Interesting though. J

Re: 2 speed PTO on B7500

You cannot go wrong with the 7500.What kind of tires are you going to get on it? I have the R-4's on mine and they look and perform great. Hope you enjoy it.
