I've got a B7500 with around 300 hours on it. The engine sounds fine at rest and its always worked fine up until now. But when I drive it, now it makes a sort of grinding noise that sounds like its coming from either roughly the midsection or more towards the front. I'm pretty sure the sounds not from the engine. I've checked the hydro fluid which is fine. Any ideas what it could be and how to check it ?

Is it only when moving? If so, it is probably the rear wheel width adjustment is loose. Inside the real wheels you will find some large bolts - tighten them.

The b7500 has the ability to move the rear wheels in or out and the bolts often loosen up. This creates a grindy/squeaky sound as the wheels rotate. Mine used to loosen up every few months but the last time I really cranked them on and I have not had that noise since.

I had a "scraping" sound come from the same approximate area. I found the plastic cover over the front u-joint (where front driveshaft bends to go into front gearbox) had been hit and was rubbing, which caused the noise. I honestly thought the u-joint was out and needed replaced until I readjusted the cover and no more noise!

Agree. Check that cover as one of your first acts. Those are known problem areas. Try a couple different slight position spots on it. Shove it up, toward the front axle, which allows you to lube it up. Then, return it to its position. Hope it helps.

Problem solved ! Found time to get under tractor today and found a 1" diameter stick wedged above the drive shaft and passing below it about where the cowling is. Never would have thought it would cause such an awful grinding noise. Took about 1/2 hour to get it out. But when I did, noise went away. Thanks to all for taking the time to reply. I'm a very happy camper today.
