Kioti CK2620H, Kubota B7100, B6200 - JD 510C loader/backhoe
So now that I have my new Kioti, I'm selling my Kubota B7100E. It's in great shape and mostly refurbished over the last year. I put it up on FB at $8500, which I figured was high. Only bites I'm getting is people looking to trade. I'm not in a hurry, so won't settle for a low price, but thought maybe I'd get some advice on a fair price.
Thoughts?

Here's the details of recent work, and I've kept full maint records for the 10+ years I've owned it:
Just finished 2000 hr overhaul including:
  • Rebuilt hydraulic cylinders
  • New Fuel pump (transfer)
  • Injectors cleaned and tested
  • Fresh oil change and filter
  • New LED headlights
  • New LED work lights
  • Fresh paint and new decals
  • Rebuilt OEM starter
  • New compression release cable
Other recent updates:
  • New back rims and tires (water antifreeze filled)
  • Front axle oil change
  • Rebuilt brakes
  • Updated wiring
  • New ignition switch
  • New radiator hoses
  • Flushed cooling system and new antifreeze
New clutch at 1735 hrs.

I've often wondered why the current generation of tractor buyers so overwhelmingly prefer to buy tractors and implements that are new&warranteed instead of used&proven...It's a mystery to me.

Perhaps it is a lack of mechanical knowledge, or lack of interest in mechanical things and how they work.
Or maybe the reason is more complicated than that. If so I'd be interested if someone would explain.

Just so you know, your price looks good to me. In fact, very good. IMHO that is a classic little tractor that will last and maintain value. If were in the market for a little tractor, a refurbished one as nice as yours would interest me just as much as any of the new ones.

Twenty years ago I'll bet you would have had plenty of buyers at that price.
BTW, I see yours has the front-driven hydraulic pump for the loader. That was a nice upgrade when that tractor was new, and worth the cost.
Good Luck,
rScotty

That price seems reasonable to me considering the condition.

I bought a new B7100 HST in 1980 and used it for 20 years. Put 4800 hrs. on it without a lick of trouble. It was a real workhorse when I was building the house. Traded it for an L3010 in 2001 and got every penny I paid for it in trade.

Looking back, I wish I had kept it. I could get that tractor into places none of my newer Kubotas will fit. Great little machine!

That's a very nice tractor, and well worth what you are asking. One thing I might suggest is less is more sometimes.

Meaning I would not list all the maintenance and new parts etc. as an inexperienced person looks at this and sees future maintenance if it needed all these things now..

Keep it simple and let the pictures tell the story. Just say it runs great, well maintained, and have all books and records.

Never thought about it that way. As a person who knows old things need love, I just assume everyone else does.

I lowered the price to $7900, but after everyone's comments, I definitely won't lower it again. I'm not in a hurry to sell it, so I can wait for the right buyer. I'm getting a lot of trade offers, some I suspect would be good trades, just not things I need or want.

I saw your post of this image in another thread. It was cool to see it as new. It's funny you mention getting it into places, that was one of my biggest concerns moving to a larger tractor. I expressed that in my post seeking advice leading up to my purchase of my Kioti CK2620H.

I too suspect I will regret selling it at some point. I considered giving it to my son, but he lives way up in NY, and frankly, with our move to a bigger property, I could put the money to good use.

I now have two larger Kubotas, but having that smaller B7100 would come in handy doing work operations in some locations on my 25 acres. I used it a lot in the woods where maneuverability was an issue.

I needed the money back then when I traded it though, so I had no choice.

With the price of CUTS now, that sounds quite reasonable. You just need to wait for the right person to come along, as the market is smaller for tractors.

With it all nice and shiny I'd be afraid to get it dirty and have it get scratched up going through the brush.

Seriously, good job with the restore. If you subtracted what you spent going through the cylinders, with the new hoses and the other stuff you've done you're right about where I would price my tractor & loader with no restoration. But I would never sell it anyway as I have the removable backhoe and the 3 point with a tiller, blade and cultivator all faded OEM orange. And for what gain? Something with a computer and DEF?

If the big one hits and everything electronic is fried, even if it took out the B7100 voltage regulator, the rest of the rig would be just fine. There aren't too many machines around that you could say that about.
