B7100 rear wheels/axle noise

   / B7100 rear wheels/axle noise #11
I was having this problem tried shims and new hubs are costly. The problem seemed the hub just wouldn't tighten up put as much pressure on the 21mm nut. This isn't that bad of design, Fix worked on both hubs. Remove the 21mm blot and pin jack up wheels slide the wheel off spray inside and inbetween with WD40 let it soak for 5 mins with the wheel off reinstall 21 mm bolt and spring using a braker bar tighten the bolt as tight as possible and then tighten it some more the WD40 lubes it and you might have to apply your weight to realy tighten it, it seems that rust and dirt interfear when the spring has no gap and you have 1/4" space between the inner and outer hex (clamp) loosen and install the wheel put the pin in first then tighten till tight

Are you saying that the problem is that the bolts doesn't thread in fully due to rust on the threads or that the rust on the springs prevents the bolt from fully taking out the play between the hub and axle?

The threads are OK its the part that the bolt pushes against. Come to find out most people have the hubs on outside in, the pin and bolt are to the outside otherwise they could never be tightened properly and in my case they were on wrong. You have 4 holes to adjust the distance between the wheels plus you can turn over the rims for the widest poss valve stems on the inside turned the front over also because I have a loader. If you want to talk call me Don

Don, thanks for the clarification. I think that my hubs are on backward - from the day it was delivered new.

In my case the hubs were on backwards I wanted the wheel out as far as poss, had to remove both wheels and hubs put the hub on the side of rim that didn't have the valve stem putting the stem on the inside and the hub out this makes it as wide as you can get, Rims are offset stem side is not as deep and remember the tread has a direction also good luck Don
