Can anybody instruct me on the proper procedure for tightening the rear wheels on a b7100? My service manual seems to skip this important part.

Thanks.

I check my rear wheels twice a year.
I jack the B7100 up and get the right wrenches, than slowly tighten the nuts on the inside...but I tighten every other nut.
My manual on my B7100 doesn't have any info, but the dealer said "just good and tight" and I never had a problem.

Are you talking about the 'big' bolt on the other side of the wheel with the spring on it or the lug nuts on the wheel itself?

Thanks.

On my 7100 the funny #%@* arrangement with bolt and spring that clamps the rear hub to the axle also used to loosen up and then the pin through the axle would loose the clamp holding it in place and the whole wheel would slide in towards the fender. It took a while but I finally replaced the pin with a bolt and tightened up the hub clamp. Then I wraped the whole thing in duct tape and haven't had any problems since. The clips on the air cleaner cap are also wrapped with duct tape as I lost one cap when work in some brush.
Nothing like duct tape. Works great on blisters to.

Does anybody have any creative ideas for solving the "loose wheel problem". It is starting to drive me. I have to tighten the big bolt every time I use the tractor. How about welding the hub directly to the shaft. (I never adjust the wheels anyway.)

Thanks.

There was a tip on Kubota.ca's site regarding this. They said to grease everything really well. This will make sure that when you tighten the bolt you are actually tightening it against the "home" position.

I don't know if this is the answer you're looking for? But, if you get new wheel hubs the part number should supersede to a new part number. The new part is what is currently being used on the newer machines and works much better. It's the complete assembly. Uses a beeter system for clamping to the axle. I know it's a bit pricey but the headache will go away.

i had the same problem on my b7200 i toke the hubs off
and wire welded the hubs shut then redrilled the holes and
had new pins made . then use a impact wrench to tighten the
wedge shims tight they must be tight havnt had any problem
since.if the wedges are wore they are quite costly at the
dealer that why i used an impact wrench on mine.

About how many hours on your B7100 did you notice this problem?
