B7100 help

I just bought a '91 B7100 HST from a local dealer, so far I am pleased with the machine. I got a 4 foot rotary cutter (to use for some light duty cutting) and have a 4 foot box blade on order also. Unfortunately, when I bought the tractor I didn't notice that the previous owner for some reason welded the two pieces of the rear hub assembly together so now I cannot tighten the hub against the axle. New hub assemblies are quoted to me at $136.00 each. I live near Houston, Texas; does anyone know of a salvage yard that handles parts for this unit, preferably in my area?

You might be better off puchasing hub from your dearler or having a good machine shop fix the problem.

The rotary cutter in which you speak off,is it a Kubota model?

I found both used parts and third party manufactured parts. Most dealers will quote the third party parts if you tell them you are looking for a price better than Kubota's. I went to yesterdays tractor board and followed the links and searches and found a large place in Oklahoma and one near Stephenville, TX. I had them sent UPS and one of them weighed 120 pounds. I found that a lot of dealers have pull off parts that they keep when an option is installed on a new tractor and they will usually make a better price on those parts. I am sure I can find the name of both places if you can't find them with the search engine. The parts I was looking for were for a Massey.
