Greetings;

I am new owner of an older B7100. I haven't really had much time to play with it as yet but I did notice one curious thing about the FEL. When you pull back on the lever to raise the FEL ,it often actually goes down a couple of inches before it goes up. As I said I have only used the tractor for a very short time and at low RPM. I was unloading the mower from the back of my truck using the loader. As the tractor does creep and I am not very used to it, I did have the RPM low and wonder if this is the issue, or maybe low fluids. Any insights greatly appreciated.

Erik, we've got some members who are much more knowledgeable than I about the hydraulics, but I've seen the same thing on my Kubotas in the past, and they were new. I think what happens is that you get a little air in the cylinders and when you pull the lever to start pumping hydraulic oil in there, it has to let that air space fill first. I think higher RPM will make it less noticeable; i.e., changes quicker, but possibly not entirely eliminate it. Usually it's nothing to worry about, but if I was very close to something that I might hit, I did worry about it at times.

Now maybe someone can explain it better than I.

Thanks for the reply. That seems to be a reasonable theory. Is there any reasonable way to bleed out the air? I suppose the high pressures would rule out the method used to bleed brake lines.

As the tractor does creep

For the creep check out the linkage. There is also an adjustment wobble plate type screw on the right side of the transmission.

I have found that higher RPM's have a favorable impact on the hydraulics.

Welcome to TBN Erik.
Creeping...do you have grease fitting,if so use a light duty grease...check under floor plate where the shaft goes into transmission for build of gunk etc..clean the best you can than grease....Egon given good advice.
