B6100E extra hydraulic port

My new to me tractor has a set of extra hydraulic ports and a knob to switch from the 3ph and whatever is plugged in. What good is this? Something stationary like a log splitter or something where the 3ph does not need to move? I thought I might be able to run a hydraulic top cylinder on the 3ph off of it until I did a search and found it only works either/or not both.
