I saw a photo of a B6000 with the rear wheels put on 'inside out' so to speak.

After looking at my axle, it does appear that you could take the wheels off, and put them on inside out to gain maybe an inch or two of width.

Is this worth it? (the schrader valves would be in the inside though)

Depends on your needs. I've had a B7100 off and on since the late '70's always with a FEL so I wouldn't have it any other way for the increased stability. If you are on flat ground and need the clearance for gates and narrow openings, probably not. But I always felt better with as wide as possible because of the FEL and hilly terrain.
