B3300SU pull a bottom plow?

I'm a tractor newbie, in the Nashville TN area.

I used my neighbor's John Deere for a while to mow grass (about 5 acres) and till a garden (about 50 feet by 100 feet). We had to get someone else to plow the garden first because his tractor wouldn't pull a plow very well (or he didn't have a small enough one maybe).

Would a B3300SU pull a bottom plow? They seem to come in 1, 2 and 3 bottoms? And depths of 12-16 inches? Since my garden is small, a small plow might do?

Would the B3300SU pull a small bottom plow? Or must you have -+40 HP to pull any bottom plow?

You will be able to pull a single bottom plow just fine. If you have enough weight and r1 ag tires maybe a two bottom, but for your application a single bottom 12 or 14" three point plow will work fine.

I put 400+ hours on a B3300SU before selling it to acquire a Kubota L3560.

I pulled a Ford 101 series 2-12 moldboard plow behind the B3300SU with R4 tires fine, in Florida sandy-loam, rock-free soil. The Ford 101 Series is a "big" 2-12 and there were early issues in mounting the plow on the Three Point Hitch because of a plow frame interference issue with right Lifting Rod, but it was overcome. The Ford 101 is an easy fit behind the larger L3560.

With a 12" plow, single, double, or triple, you can turn soil in a depth range of of 5" - 7". I consider it unlikely that a B3300SU could pull a 2-14" moldboard plow (nor a 3-12"), but it could easily pull a single 14" moldboard plow. Fourteen inch moldboard plows singe, double, or triple, can turn soil in a depth range of 6" to 8".

Learning to adjust a moldboard plow takes quite a bit of time. There are many threads here on T-B-N from frustrated plow owners who are upset because their plow "does not work properly"; correct plow adjustment resolves their plow problems.

Most old plows were designed to fit the Three Point Hitch on a Ford 8N/9N tractors, which had a lot of room around the hitch. If you are going to buy a used plow, keep this in mind. The B3300SU has LESS room around its Three Point Hitch than the Ford 8N/9N.

I think most new 12" and 14" plows, such as those from Everythingattachments.com, are designed for today's lighter 20-35 hp tractors and would fit the B3300SU Three Point Hitch fine……BUT INQUIRE BEFORE ORDERING.

A single moldboard plow is (relatively) easy to adjust and use effectively.

If your garden has been plowed in the last year you should be able to prepare the soil, smoother, with a Disc Harrow having 18"-20" diameter pans, eliminating the plow stage.

I pulled a single bottom plow easily with a B2320 after I put weight on the front of it. Got a video posted here some where. Search under my name if you want to see it. Was lots of fun, I loved it. I SOLD a rotary mower to a man and took a 2 bottom plow Dearborn (Ford) 12" in on trade that I've been asking $425 for but will take $300 or right revolver for it in Somerset, Ky.

My B3300SU pulled this rented two bottom plow rather effortlessly through somewhat tight and boney northeast PA soil. Quarter acre took less than 1.5 hours to plow and it was my first time ever.
