Has anyone had to replace the dipper stick hydrolic hose? The cylinder is inside the dipper stick and the fitting has no access from outside the arm. All i can figure is i am going to have to pull the cylinder out if there is enough room or seperate the entire boom assembly to pull the cylinder.
Either way there are some safety concerns i am going to have to figure out. Any one know if there is a economical 1/4 hose repair kit available?

I went through this with my B2630 / bh75. Piece of cake - here's how you do it.

Pivot the hoe all the way to one side and lower the boom down as far as it will go. This allows you to pull the cylinder out from inside the boom. Otherwise there is no room - it would hit the tractor.

If you drive the rear wheels up on ramps or even lower the boom down a hill, you can get it down much farther than just on level ground.

Drive the pins out at each end of the cylinder, and it slides right out. It's heavy, but not that bad. Now you can remove the hoses.

Really crappy design as far as I'm concerned, but it wasn't all that hard to make the repair. More of a pain than difficult.

My only thought is, my hose hadn't actually blown yet, so I was able to position the hoe. It was chafed badly and I wanted to replace it. Not sure of how I'd lower the boom with a blown hose - I'd have to see how the whole thing sits. Maybe just get the stick out quickly as far as I could and shut it down quick? Come along?

Anyway, that's how you do it. Let me know how you make out.

thanks man, did you extend the dipper stick all the way out or fold it?

I think you could do it either way. I believe I had my stick all the way out, rear tires up on ramps - or maybe just the one tire on the side I had the hoe swung to - able to drop the boom more that way.

One more thing. When you go to reinstall the cylinder, be careful of the other hoses inside the boom. Make sure they don't get all tangled or jammed. Also, if I remember right, I slid a piece of 2x4 blocking up the boom and under the cylinder temporarily. The cylinder sat on this blocking and I also used a long pry bar so as to be able to lift the far end of the ram up enough to line up with the hole for the pin. That was probably the most difficult part of the whole thing!

Those new curved booms with the rams on the outside sure look nice right about now, don't they?

ok that just was not a fun task! i drove up on 2 blocks, spun the arm around to the right and was never able to drag the cylinder completly out of the arm. i replaced the hoses for 51.28 at a local shop, much higher quality. i did end up using a 3/4 crow's foot to break the lines loose and that was the big trick i found. i was able to reach up in the arm and get the lines off. realignment of the ram was not much fun but i was able to get it. tomorrow i am changing the fluid in the machine, it was pretty dark so im going ahead of shedule just for my peace of mind.

Glad to hear you got it done. I'm surprised you couldn't get it out of the boom. Should have told you - knock out the top pin, then retract the cylinder before you remove the bottom pin. This pulls it down and then it just comes right out - a lot easier when it's retracted/shorter.

i tried everything i could even fully retracted. The construction of the arm prevented it from being removed by 1/2"
