Ok Here's my delima. I wan't to be able to use the tractor I buy to move things other than dirt so forks is a must. The B3030 and B7800 are both compatable. I like the B3030 but I had priced the L3400 and the 3030 setup is more $$$. Well I got to test drive a cab model B3030 today and I really liked it until I got the price Well maybe a cab isn't for me. Tractor with R4s 17,9000. With out cab 14,3000. If I get the L3400 I will spend 500.00 less for more hp and a bigger tractor. But I don't really need a tractor as big as the L3400.
I think it really depends on what you are going to use the tractor for. I purchased a B3030 cab tractor as I planned on using it for mowing along with loader work. I ended up using something else for mowing so now I wish that I had purchased a Grand L with cab instead of the B3030 for the stronger loader and PTO HP available on the Grand L.
If you will be using the tractor for finish mowing the B3030 (due to its relative light weight) is a good way to go. If you are purchasing it primarily for loader work and ground engaging you would be better of with the L series for the extra weight and stronger loader.
If you have the room on your property to get around with a machine the size of the L3400, you might appreciate the larger FEL and its higher capacities. You can also get the universal QA setup on the L3400, so adding standard QA attachments will be easy.
The B3030 QA setup is a non-universal Kubota option, or you'd have to try something from a company like ATI, but a universal type QA (if available) is going to dramatically impact the FEL's capacity.
I guess it really is going to come down to the weights of the pallets you'll be moving regularly - that should be your biggest determining factor in which machine to go with.
Unless you have a specific need for lighter weight (finish mowing), mid pto (mid mount mower), smaller size (to get around in tighter spots) go with the L3400.
Unless you have those specific needs, the larger frame is a better bang for the buck IMHO.
Thanks guys Your input has helped me make this pretty important decision. I'm going with the L3400. I feel that for my immediate needs I would like to have the smaller unit but in the long haul the bigger unit will be better for me because I would like to pick up a few extra bucks with the equipment. Thanks again.
When I stumbled on this site I did good. I think. A world of knowledge at my finger tips from some really helpful people. Give yourselves a pat on the back.
