My new B3030 TLB was delivered this morning. I bought it from Brady Barlow of Barlow Equipment in Somerset, Kentucky. Brady was prompt with replies, pricing, etc. - a far cry from the local dealers that I was pulling teeth out of to get pricing from. Brady did save me money over buying locally, and none of the local dealers acted like they actually cared about making the sale. I never was even able to get a price from the dealer that I bought my last machine from. Brady can ship any warranty parts for me, and if I need any major warranty repairs, I can drive a couple of hours to the service dept of my previous dealer, as I did like those guys. I highly recommend Brady - he made the entire process pretty painless. I had to wait about a month once I finally decided to pull the trigger until he had a full load heading out west, but had I been ready to go when I first contacted him, and not lollygagged waiting for local quotes, I could have had my machine within a week as he had a truck ready to go at that time.

I spent the day working with it, though only managed to log 3 hours. I did too much manual labor, but I was in a hurry to get a couple of trees transplanted, some grading done, and put down some field grass seed before the snow that's supposed to be coming in tomorrow night. I had a good day to work - overcast and 70*.

I'm really glad I didn't go any smaller, as I think the B3030 is as small as I want on this property. Bigger might have been nicer, but as the bigger projects get finished, the B3030 is going to be a good sized machine for property maintenance & upkeep.

So here are the obligatory pictures:

The first one is my little machine on the trailer with an L39 TLB w/only 40 hours on it going to a guy on Colorado's west slope, and a new L3940 TLB heading out to California.

bandit67,

It looks like it was worth the wait, very nice. I went to the dealer to order some new drag links last week and it was a nice sunny 75 degrees out. Before I left, I sat on a
B3030 out on the lot and thought it was a very nice machine. It really did stand out on the lot from the other rigs they had lined up and even though you don't necessarily buy a tractor for the looks, it's nice to have a work horse that looks good. Great choice! Dyer, retired

@bandit67,

I bet you are having a good time. I know you've been waiting for a few weeks. I see that you have edited your signature to reflect you now have your B3030 :) Hopefully, I'll make a deal within the next few days and get mine on the way. Take care and enjoy!

Your smarter than me. You got all the attachments except a BH thumb at the time of purchase.

BTW, Please resize your pics before uploading.. Makes it easier to upload and easier for us to download.

Congrats! Very nice. Thanks for sharing the pics. My B3030 was delivered back in January when the ground was frozen, so I've had to wait for a few weeks to really put her to work. Glad to see you got lots of matching toys to go along with the tractor!

Sorry, they loaded fine for me, but I forget that not everyone has powerful computers with decent graphics cards. I'm doing my part to help keep the economy rolling by buying a new, more powerful tractor - maybe you should do your part and get a new, more powerful computer. :D

And yes, I did do a bit of work with the new machine - had to take the day off from the office job. :D Look at the background in the pic with the forks on, then look at the background in the pic with the rear blade on. You'll see the little baby Doug Fir, and a bigger Ponderosa Pine that I transplanted. Hopefully the Pondy makes it, but it was in a crappy spot in the far corner of the property where no one could enjoy it, so hopefully, it'll live in it's new location where we can enjoy it.

Brady is a good guy, a man of his word:) . He's been a great help to me and when I was selling my
BX23, I sent a lot of referrals his way. :D

Too bad you didn't buy your new machine from him, huh?

I recommend Brady to anyone, no matter where you live. I will be calling on him for implements, etc. that I want/need down the road. When you are looking at buying a new machine, no matter how small, it's a big deal to you, so you want someone to make you feel like your sale means as much to them as a tractor that costs 5x as much. Something I didn't find when shopping locally, which didn't instill much confidence in the local dealers.

Congratulations on your new machine Bandit! You were very thorough in your research, and I'm sure this machine will serve you well. Nothing is more pleasant, or satisfying than using carefully chosen tools. Enjoy!

hehe, you kinda picked the wrong guy for that statement. My machine gets replaced about once a year. I run linux with WinXP as a guest on a dual monitor. 4 gig ram amd 5000. 256meg video card. With a squid proxy/dns catching server. As well as a linux domain server. That's at home.

However, I live in the sticks and have a 2-way satellite, the worse connection you can have other than a modem. As well as the FAP (Fair access policy) where they slow you down slower than a modem if you over-use it. (Like downloading to many pictures.)
Someone other than me with a modem would simply have to forego these pictures. That shouldn't happen when it only takes a second to resize them.

At work, I've no problem with a 650.00 internet connection I write a check for each month.

That's fine. I'll keep pics at or below 500 megs from here on out. Everyone should be able to enjoy tractor pics.
