B3030 Cab and 6' Rotary Cutter?

Can a B3030 Cab run a 6' Light Duty Rotary Cutter for pasture mowing?

Something like a Woods BB72.

Not looking at doing land clearing....just pasture mowing.

The only problem you might have is with the weight so far back with the overhang on the tractor. It would require front ballast!

I've got a B3030 (w/o cab but loaded rear tires) that I routinely use with a Woods PRD 6000 RFM without any problems on some quite hilly and not so smooth land here in KY. The grass is sometimes quite tall and thick and it mows well. Although the cab adds some weight to the B3030 and the 6' Woods cutter is probably a little bit heavier than my PRD 6000, I seriously doubt that you would have any problem on the mostly flat land of FL.

Curiosity got the best of me and I just looked up the weight specs. on the Woods website:

HSS 72 (Entry Level) 636 lbs. (w/slipclutch instead of shear pin)
BB 72 (Std-Duty Bushbull) 800 lbs.
PRD 6000 653 lbs.

On my BX2200, I run a 40" Heavy Duty Gearmore rough cutter, which cuts through 12' tall weeds and clusters of 2" thick saplings without even a hint of dropping RPMs. I have no doubt that the B3030 can run this light duty model at 60", in fact, I highly doubt it would have any trouble running medium or heavy duty models in thick brush.

You can probably get by with that if you don't let the weeds get too tall, keep the FEL on, maybe put a sandbag or two in the bucket, and don't lift the tailwheel too often. But I think it'll feel like the tail's trying to wag the dog. Slopes won't be too comfortable and neither will tight, fast turns. You should be safe enough, though, if your land is flat and you slow down for the turns.

Heck, buy it, run it and if it doesn't feel right, tell Momma you need to upgrade to an L4240 to feel safe
