B2650 oil change intervals?

My book says to change the engine oil at 50, 200, 400 hours and so on. Messicks says 50, 100, 200, 300.

Who is right?

After the first 50 every 200 hours seems like a lot of hours.

And yet several manufacturers for larger diesels are advertising 500 hour intervals. Could depend upon oil type. I use full synthetic, still maintain 100 intervals.

Tier 4 engines produce high operating temperatures. Believe this factor contributes to oil break-down, even full synthetic.

My book says 50, 200, 400, 600, 800 and on and on. But I did 50 and from here I will do annually as I do no think I can put a full 200 hours per year on the machine, and I would not go past a year on the oil.

It never hurts to change other then your pocket, and that isn't much if your a DIY'er. Have had my 1100 since 2015, has 145 hours now. I just change it every year and pay no attention to hours

Used to change every 50 hours-now use Rotella T6 and change every spring-about 85 hours a year. As my Dad used to say "Oil's cheap, motors ain't."
