Well, its been a long summer - and my - not so new anymore - B2630 is ready for it's 50 hour service - although it may be slightly past that mark... :)

Anyhow just looking for any tips anyone might have as I plan to do it myself.
From what I can tell from the manual I will need to do the following:

1. Oil change and filter
2. Complete hydraulic fluid change and 2 filters :(
3. Clean air filter
4. Clean fuel filter

Various other checks, adjustments, greasing.

Looks like Colemans may be the cheapest for materials - at least on the SUDT - unless someone can point me to a better deal. I plan to get the engine oil somewhere else - but am looking for recommendations on that.

Thanks !

Check your owners manual concerning changing the hydraulic fluid on the first 50 hour service.

On my B2920 the only hydraulic service required (per manual) was to change the trans filter. I do get the impression that a lot of guys here change the oil and both filters though.

I changed my hydro fluid anyway. Can't see spending so much money on a tractor then trying to save $100.

Things to keep in mind:

-Don't forget that there are 2 drain plugs for the engine oil.

-Filling the hydr. oil back up on this tractor is a royal pain. Get a funnel and attach a long clear hose to it so you can clear the back of the tractor.

-I didn't change the inner air filter. Couldn't really see the point. It was totally clean. I really believe it's just a backup.

Do you have a problem with the front axel burping fluid out the vent when you're working on hills with that tractor? I have. Drives me nuts. Not overfilled either. I ended up routing a long clear hose from the vent up to the loader valve out of sight - serves as an extension to keep the vent higher than the axel oil level.

Have fun. It's really a piece of cake. Couldn't imagine paying anyone to do it.

Yea, I checked - and it's got the little circle next to it in the 50 hour column just like the engine oil - so I guess it needs to be changed.

davatk, FYI When I changed the fluid and filters for the hydro fluid on my b3030 I over-torqued the bolt/nut. I stripped the threads on the case. Soooooo just be very careful when you tighten the drain bolt/nut and don't do what I did. I had a Kubota B1550 for over 20 years and never had an issue (cast iron or steel transmission) but the first time I work on the new B3030 with a cast aluminum case (I believe) I mess it up. I had to get a thread repair kit and re-tap the hole. I was sweating bullets. Good luck!

It is a good plan to change the hydro oil. As for cleaning the fuel and air filters...spring for new ones. You cannot clean the fuel and cleaning the air is very risky. JMHO
