The left pin on my BH75 doesn't come out or go in unless I lower the stabilizer on that side and adjust it slightly, I am not sure how the BH65 works but I try the stabilizers

Nice and warm this weekend....

So I figured I'd try to remove my BH65 Backhoe...What a bugger...

I was able to get the left pin out, but was simply unable to get the right. I juked around with trying to get the appropriate amount of pressure pressing down on the backhoe bucket to take the tension off of the pins so as to be able to yank 'em....No Dice....

No matter how I positioned the bucket, the pins literally seem TIGHT...I'm wondering if the paint on the inside of the mounting holes may need to be ground out. I lubed, yanked and cajoled with no joy. At times it seemed like the pins could reluctantly be spun back and forth, but were still very/very tight...

I'm tempted to drive them out then use a dremel sander on the inside of the mount holes...Good idea? Bad?....

The dealer should have adjusted the alignment of the holes in the subframe, and cleaned up the holes in the backhoe / subframe for R&R. I would give him a call, and maybe the service guy can come out, and do that for you. There is no need of fighting with that down the road. It could be that the subframe needs to be slightly adjusted, and those are heavy parts. They probably have a reamer, or other setup to clean the excess paint from that size hole if necessary. You pay for that setup, it might as well be done right by them.

My dealer told me that the pins would probably be tight until the paint inside the holes wears off. My left pin is always the troublesome one for me as well. I did put some grease on the pins when they were out and it seemed to help some. I would probably would not take a dremel tool with a sander to the inside of the holes, maybe a wire brush. You don't want to create any extra slop in the pins that will cause excessive wear down the road. I am trying to figure out what could be holding them in even when you can rotate them back and forth. Can you tell if there are grooves in the pins that may be letting them seem free but not pull out? That is usually how I know I pretty much have them loose and I am able to rotate them and pull them at the same time and they come out. Some times I get lucky and they just pull out. It really takes very very small adjustments with the BH to get everything lined up (boom, stabilizers, and even swing sometimes). I usually try to loosen up one side at a time and remove one pin at a time.

Sorry to hear you are having trouble.

O, by the way, it is more fun to wear the paint off using the BH than a dremel tool. Good Practice too. :)

Make sure you have the front bucket off the ground. It can cause a twist and make the BH pins hard to remove if the surface is not perfectly flat.

Front Bucket off the Ground?....hmmmm

Checked my manual and it makes no mention of keeping the FEL off the ground when removing the BH. Maybe that will be the trick...OK, I'll try it...Thanks.

I am attempting to remove on level asphalt, the pins do not appear to be grooved or damaged, just very/very tight. The PTO guard is also kind-of a royal pain in the butt where it is located while trying to gain leverage to yank the little suckers.

Thanks for the advice...I'll let you know how it goes...

It's not in the manual (discovered by trial and error) but it makes a big difference on my BX. It may not help yours at all but it's worth trying.
