I just bought a new B2620. Since we are going to use it for just mowing the first thing I wanted to do was take the 3 pt arms off so I didn't have to worry about backing into anything. The dealer said if you take the arms off the deck will not go up or down. What kind of hokey deal is this? Does anyone know of a way around this? Thanks!

Hmm, I suppose if you have a 3PTH rear finish mower the dealer statement is true, otherwise removing the PT arms should have no bearing on lifting the MM mower.

Not hokey. The 2620 uses the 3pt and a bracket/rod to raise/lower the MMM deck. Not my favorite arrangement, but it works well enough.

As stated, it does use the 3pt hitch arms to raise the mower deck via some linkages. It's a simple system they have used on the B-series for as long as I can remember. It does have some drawbacks, but overall I think it works fine and is cost effective. I personally wouldn't worry about taking the 3pt hitch arms off, you'll only gain a few inches with them off anyways.

I have found that with a draw bar on the hitch it acts as a bumper if I do back into anything. Happens to the best of us.
