I went to change the fuel filter element on my B 2620, and I can't figure out how to get the element out of the bowl. I did not any force, because I did not want to break the bowl-it seems like the element has to be pried out of the bowl-any tips or pointers on how to do this?

Thanks,
Will

if it is anything like my b7800 fuel filter, i use needle nose pliers on the white part of the insert element and pull it out. mine does come out kinda tight and i have to work it out evenly, don't just pull from one side, pull from 3 or 4 different areas and work it up and out. i have to reuse the 2 rubber o rings on the element and fuel bowl. like i said this is all IF your b2620 is like my b7800. yours might be different, but if i had to guess, they should be close to being the same.

due to some scuff markes left on the element by the needle nose pliers, i don't clean my element, i just replace it with a new one each time.

Will,

I have cleaned mine on my b2320. it takes some careful use of a small 3.5mm screwdriver straight blade, I call it a tweaker screwdriver. The filter it self is kinda wedged in there. somehow at 30 hours i had some sediment in my filter bowl. I dont think the sediment in the bottom of the bowl would have hurt anything but i just didnt want it in there. you could use plliers as well wrapped in a rag so that you dont mar the nylon housing.
good luck you will get it take you time with it..

I usually use a 90 degree o-ring pick that I slide into the grooves of the filter and pull up, I just keep working my way around until the filter comes out, and yes it is tight.

Thanks for the replies-sounds like I was on the right track, just need a little persistance and patience. Yes, I will have to use the O-rings on my tractor as well (why Kubota couldn't put a 2 cent O-ring in with filter)-and I plan to replace the element, so I am not concerned about damaging that.

Thanks again,

Will

As a point of interest; I just replaced a fuel filter with a filter purchased from the Kubota dealer and did receive both required o-rings with the purchase.
Seems about right...
