B2620 - cracked radiator tank

Hi everyone, I wasn't sure where to post this, so I started in the parts/repairs forum. At any rate, I have a cracked radiator tank and need some advice about possibly sourcing a new one. I don't want to duplicate the responses, so here's the link to my original thread:

Depending on how bad it is, a little bit of pepper will seal up a rad nicely. My B20 sprung a leak 7 years ago and it has been fine since.

When I jamed stick into radiator, no easy fix other than new one or all metal built by radiator shop. Have used epoxies, plastic menders to fix the plastic tanks though it is recommended to get a plastic welder. It is hard to get the gasket and crimp band to work if you take them apart.

Thanks David. Yes, the dealer mentioned that the crimp band would be the primary reason that a new radiator may be needed. Hoping the radiator shop can come up with something... maybe a metal tank welded in? I'll post updates when I hear.

I assume you don't have the Kubota / KTAC insurance? Bummer!

Update... The radiator shop was able to locate a new tank and reinstall it. $180. Better than $520 for a new one.

That's fantastic. That's less than the $250 deductible had you had the Kubota insurance. Glad to hear you got it fixed, and are getting back to tractoring :thumbsup:
