Is the rear PTO housing on the Kubota B2601 HSD steel or aluminum?

If you're concerned about longevity don't be, I run some pretty good size pto equipment on my B2620 (older version of 2601) and no problems.
Kubota has been using aluminum housings on the B series for a long time, I've been into a B7200 transaxle, excellent casting, material and design.

Is it fair to compare a B2601 to the JD1025R? I ask because the JD is bigger than the BXs in its class. Tractor Time with Tim made the JD look slightly better than the BX. But the BX is a lot smaller framed tractor.

I've just started to look at specs. So am just assuming the Kubota is about the Deere's size because it looks like it.

I get a lot of good information from TractorData.com. When comparing tractors look at the PTO horsepower, weight, and whether four wheel drive or not. That should give you a basis for comparison of apples to apples. TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors

No, the 2025r is most similar in physical size to the B2601, the Kubota does specs out better on paper.

The BX and 1025r are the closest comparison since they are both sub compact, but yes, the JD is a little bit larger so hard to make an exact comparison. They both use the same size wheel/tire setup (well all but the BX1880 which is smaller then the other BX).

Years ago I had compared the then-1026R to the B2620 and they were similar in size and HP, but the 1026R had many features that were more like a BX. Also had smaller tires than the B. So I concluded the 1026R really was more of a BX competitor. The current 1025R is the same as the 1026R except for the engine and some minor tweaks.
