I originally posted this as a reply to another thread, but I guess it was a dead thread because I didn't get any response so I will repost. I have a BX2370-1. Love it, its been great. But now I think I'm going to go bigger. Why?
1. I want to be better able to lift out rocks and small stumps. I was originally looking for a BH model, but think I changed my mind. I will go with a trench bucket/bucket spade kind of attachment instead. If its a big job I will need an excavator anyway. I will get most stuff done with the trench bucket. I will also probably get a 3 point hitch stump grinder, I don't need to uproot a stump, just make it disappear for my trail.
2. Ground clearance. I ground out my BX on a lot of stuff in the woods. The extra clearance would be nice.
3. HST fan. I constantly worry about breaking this when trail blazing. I think the bigger models don't have the same exposed plastic fan or underside vulnerabilities. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
4. Three range hst tranny. Many times when under load going up a hill the Low-low range would do me much better than the low of the 2 speed hst.
5. Inching valve on three point hitch, ability to return to the same level with rear implements.

I am torn between a Kioti Ck2510 and a Kubota B2601. I lean toward the Kioti as superior, and its is slightly cheaper. It's very well thought out from a maintenance standpoint and better specs in nearly all categories. BUT, the B2601 has 3 range tranny-That will be huge to me to get the extra grunt when pulling and it also has a mid PTO included in the base price. I also am concerned with weight. The Kioti is much heavier, which is usually good for tractor purposes, but not mine. I will use the tractor for lawn work also and my grass can be quite wet at times. I assume the Kioti will rut up my lawn much more than my Kubota with its turf tires. Will the R14 tires work better in protection of the lawn?

I really don't know much about Kioti tractors or their reliabily. Is it in theory a reliable alternative.

I'd like to hear other considerations that I may have missed.

Sorry, not familiar with these models enough to help you decide.
But If 3 range is important to you shouldn't you be comparing the Kubota to the Kioti CK 2610. Believe it has 3 range

I was looking at this size tractor when I made my purchase. I was told the CK2510 is going to be getting some changes to it this year, so it might be worth waiting to see what they are. Around my area the Kubota and Kioti were basically the same price and that eliminated Kioti from my search.

The B2301 will get you bigger with 3ph position control and (I think) engine cooling fan for the HST (don't think the operator's manual points this out). Also 3 range. Might be more competitive in price with the ck2510.

Yes, 3 range is important, but the 2610 is just physically bigger than I have room for, and weighs even more than I'd like for mowing my lawn.

I am biased obviously, but why would you go B2601 and not the B2650? Size is just a couple inches smaller on the B2601, yet capability is not a lot more than the BX. I would say that a CK2610 or B2650 would be money better spent.

These are the 2 machines that I've been considering as well. The physical size is 'just right' for the things I need them for, plus they would both fit in my garage.

As mentioned above, apparently the CK2510 is being replaced with the CX2510 this spring. It will have an adjustable steering wheel and dual HST pedals as opposed to the rocker/treadle. R14 tires will be available as well, based on some photos.

While similar HP, the engines are differently sized, with the Kioti's being 100ci vs the 61ci of the Kubota. I'm not nearly experienced enough to know how that impacts real-world usage.
Apparently the engine used in the CK2510 is the same one used in the older CK35 and is mechanically limited by an adjustable fuel flow screw. I'm assuming that adjusting this would void any warranties, but it is what it is. Having 35HP in a machine the size of the CK2510 without any emissions "stuff" would be pretty nifty. Theoretically.

I can definitely see how a lack of 3-range HST would be a deal breaker though. It sounds like it would be very nice to have.

I go B2601 because it has a nicer mm mowing deck, has the rear remote control valves built in to the inner rear fender (only the cab version of the B50 does) it can do anything and it saved some money. And I prefer the gauges over the B2650 digital dash.

How many months has your BX2370 been in service on your property? During this period, how many engine hours have you put on the tractor?

How many total acres will you tractor on? How much lawn do you have? How many acres will have trails? How water retentive is your soil?

I want to be better able to lift out rocks and small stumps. I was originally looking for a BH model, but think I changed my mind. I will go with a trench bucket/bucket spade kind of attachment instead.

Light tractors you are considering need a shorter length bucket spade than heavier tractors and skid steers.

I will probably get a 3 point hitch stump grinder, I don't need to uproot a stump, just make it disappear for my trail.

Depending on how many stumps you want below grade, consider using a chainsaw with a carbide saw chain. Most who post here already own a chainsaw.

Carbide saw chains stay functionally sharp a reasonable period in dirt. Carbide saw chains require special "diamond" equipment to be resharpened by dealers.
Chain bars will require replacement more often when in contact with dirt. CHEAPER AND LESS TO STORE RELATIVE TO A STUMP GRINDER.

Yes.

HST fan. I constantly worry about breaking this when trail blazing. I think the bigger models don't have the same exposed plastic fan or underside vulnerabilities. Please correct me if I'm wrong. You are NOT wrong.

The three rang HST will make some difference but not a huge difference. The B2601 weighs only a few pounds more than your existing BX.
Do you have a need for a mid-PTO?

I also am concerned with weight. The Kioti is much heavier, which is usually good for tractor purposes, but not mine. I will use the tractor for lawn work also and my grass can be quite wet at times. I assume the Kioti will rut up my lawn much more than my Kubota with its turf tires.

Kioti is 38% heavier than the Kubota. With this bare tractor weight differential you will notice SOME increase in capability, but you will not be "wowed".

Will the R14 tires work better in protection of the lawn?

I am a retired sales and marketing pro. In marketing the first thing taught is that every product should be marked NEW & IMPROVED or 25 CENTS OFF. R14s are the "new and improved" tractor tire product.

I would research if R14s are six ply construction like R4s or four ply construction like R1s and Turf Tires, then consider how tough a tire you need.
