Hi all,

Hoping you can help me with a problem I've encountered. I bought a King Kutter rotary cutter yesterday. After setting it all up and attaching it to the 3PH of my B2410, I found I have very little clearance from the ground at full height. I could adjust the rear height with the top link, but the front of the cutter is only about 1 1/2 to 2 " off the ground at full lift. Sure doesn't seem right to me. The front was catching on the ground just driving around. I do have a mid mount mower kit on although the mower is off. Is it possible that the lift kit on the mower is restricting the height of the 3PH???

Any suggestions? Anyone else had an issue with the clearance??

Thanks for you assistance.

Hi Kevin,

There are two sets of holes in the lower links of the 3-pt hitch. The forward set will give you "higher lifting height (with reduced lifting force)", according to the manual.

If you are already set up with the lift rods connected to the forward-most set of holes, then I think you may be stuck.

Hi Rob,

Guess it pays to re-read the manual! /w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif. I found your quote on page 36...I double checked my tractor and the side links are currently in the back hole (hole A in the diagram). If all I have to do is reposition to hole B (the forward hole) I will be a very happy camper!!!

Which hole do you have yours set in? If you are using the back hole, have you had any problem with implement height??

Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin,

Good deal! Sounds like you are all set to use your rotary cutter.

On my tractor the lift arms are set up in hole 'A', and that's how it came set up. I might try hole 'B' with my 3ph finish mower - at full lift the caster wheels will sometimes bottom on the ground if I am going up an incline. I think that the rear set of holes is standard.

Rob
