B2400HST Hydraulic Steering Line Leak

I thought I had a hydraulic leak around one of the hydraulic fittings going to my front end loader. Unfortunately, it looks like the leak is actually coming from one of the hard hydraulic lines going to the steering. It looks like someone brazed the line (very badly) in the past and the pipe is leaking from the brazed area.

Here are my questions:

1. Has anyone ever removed their steering lines? If so, how difficult was it?
2. Would you replace the line or try to find someone to re-braze the existing line?

Not hard. The hardest part is gaining access to the hydraulic lines. I've had to replace the high pressure line going into the steering column twice because of a small crack where the line enters the steering column. Apparently, I was grabbing the steering wheel to mount the tractor. I believe that was the cause of my cracks. Once you get the steering wheel off and the cover removed it's pretty straight forward. The lines are just screwed into the steering column with a nut.

I don't know anything about brazing. I just bought an OEM replacement line.

As luck would have it I still have the hydraulic line I replaced laying around. You can see how they are attached with a nut type mechanism. Once you gain access just screw it in.

When I replaced mine I never removed the steering wheel (I did not have a steering wheel puller) or the rods connecting the brake and cruise control locks. After removing the had throttle and the dashboard, I was able to rotate the cover out of the way. That gave me very limited access but enough to get the job done. The job would have been a lot easier it I had removed those items.

If it could be repaired I probably would fix it but I would braze it myself plus I'm cheap. most people don't own or have access to hydraulic wrenches but they sure make it easier.
