Been shopping tractors the last several months and have found a couple that like. 1) b2150, hydrostatic,4wd,dozer blade 2)L245,4wd,loader 3) L275,4wd,no fel ,tractor only. Owned an International super H and a JD 950 previously. Tractor will be used for work in small Nursery and a couple acres of crop. Land plow, loader work, landscape, snow, box blading, bush hog, etc....... I like the 2150 for its power steering and hydro. But the 245-275 seem like meatier units.
But the 2150 has no loader. The JD I had was used by myself and my pop. It was a problem machine that left a bad taste in my mouth for another deere. I found a used loader for a L245, will it fit a L275??? Price of loaders for the 2150 are pushing me away from it. Oh to win the Lottery!!!!!!! Need my new (used) tractor spring coming and lots to do. Any input apreiciated. Thank you and have a great day

treehugger, I'm not sure how we can help you. Maybe someone else knows whether a 245 loader will fit a 275 tractor; I don't. But for the work you describe, personally, I'd sure want 4WD, loader, hydrostatic, and power steering.

We could use a couple more details, on 1) what type/size/make of loader that you found for the L245 is; 2) what price range each machine is in; 3) age of the tractors; 4) hours; 5) condition, physically and mechanically.

The B2150 is about as meaty as a B-series got without being an L-series, before the B2710/B2910 were introduced... very solid, reliable tractor nicely equipped. Since it was made through '98, it is going to be a lot newer than the L245 and L275.

The L245 and L275 were also nice tractors, although much older than the B2150... not really stripped of features for their time, but you won't find all of the features found on a B2150 (which has most features you would find on today's new tractors)... overall, though, solid, reliable tractors that were some of the first compact tractors in the country...

Carefully inspect any/all of them that you are considering... you don't want to buy a tractor that is ready for repair.

I just bought a 1977 L245DTw/a front end loader. I put a rear blade on it and was pleased w/it's power.
I was able to grade my 1/4 mile driveway up hill with no problem. Obviously stronger than my father's John Deere 850. It's old and still cost a lot, but if it holds up, it seems like it will be just what I need for my 12 acre wood lot. It is hard to steer, but I like the work out and the tractor is doing enough of the work I figure. I have changed all the fluids and filters and it seems easy to work on. Watch out for the front end though, everyone says that it is prone to problems.
