ANDY; congrats on the delivery, did u have any problems with the controls? i know the driver drove it off bu ti am sure u had to play with it rain or no rain! glad u got the manuels with it. read them and then read them again while u are with the tractor. and why is it parked outside? would it not fit in garage or did u just want to admire it/w3tcompact/icons/love.gif
Congratulations! I think that you'll enjoy that tractor. The complete model number should be B2150HSDB. The HS is for hydrostatic transmission, the D is for 4wd, and the B is for Bi-speed turn.
I would not have guessed that a B2150 configured with FEl & BH would have had the bi-speed turn option. That option is useful when you want a tight turning radius using 4wd without tearing up the turf (as in mowing).
I guess you can add the bi-speed engage lever to the list of knobs/levers/pedals that you won't need to use for a while. Since my B2150 doesn't have the bi-speed option, I can't tell you exactly where the engage lever is. Seems like I remember it being on the lower right-hand side of the dash.

You may have ended up not needing the preparation that you did, but I would say that time was definetly not wasted. The next delivery person may not have had a clue about Kubota tractors.
No problems with the controls. The fact that I had a diagram from Dave41 and that really detailed description of the controls from Kelvin meant that I felt familiar with it before it arrived. The added bonus was that the delivery driver was knowledgable enough to give me a short demonstration.
I was reading the manual this morning while having breakfast - and looking at the rain pour down /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif, I will read then practice, read and practice until I gain confidence.
There are several reasons it is still outside. The evening meal was nearly ready, although the ROPS will just clear the top of the door frame the back hoe will have to be angled to clear and I want to practice with it before I get into tight spaces, and of course the main reason you guessed, I wanted to admire it through the window /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif.

I was really surprised when I noticed it had Bi-speed turn, the dealer never mentioned it on my many conversations with him on the 'phone. Was this an expensive option when new? You are right about the location of the lever, one of the many I will forget about for now. I just want to get some confidence on it before I start to explore the other features /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.
I agree with you that I didn't waste my time with the preparation I did, it was unexpected to find a car delivery driver with experience of this kind of machine.
I know it is hard to compare prices but my package cost me £6,500 (US$9,500) plus the dreaded VAT of 17.5% which makes the total cost around £7,600 (US$11,200), is this comparable to what one would cost on your side of the pond?

Sorry about not responding sooner; I have been out of town for a couple of days and didn't have access to the internet.
I bought my B2150HSD with Kubota FEL a few years ago for just under $9500, and I considered that to be a really good deal (still do...). At the time it had around 850 hours.
If you got the same package plus backhoe for $9500, then I'd say that you got a steal. It is unfortunate about the taxes, but I don't think that you had much control over them. Fortunately, I bought from an individual and didn't have to pay taxes.
As for the Bi-Speed turn, I think that that option cost around $400 or so. A lot of people didn't like it because of "the trouble it could cause", but I have yet to actually hear of any trouble from the system.
