I really like the rolling scaffold idea, never thought of that one. As for keeping the sun off, what's that thing you call "sun" ? Here in Western PA we normally have two seasons...winter and the fourth of July. This year we've added a third...Monsoon.
My thoughts are right in line with moving the dirt from point A to point B. I think the power dump is in the $800 to the $1k range, I've already fabricated in my mind a lift setup off the rear rollbar using the "slap it on a trailer ball" type electric winch I have. Yessir...you sure are finding extra ways to spend my money. Maybe I can blame my next purchase on the Texas Bird...that'll have her wondering what the hell I'm talking about for awhile.

That steel roof they have for the Mule is really tough. It was great for standing on it to install (and later clean out) rain gutters, installing my 10' x 24' aluminum patio awning, and for pruning trees.

And I think they had a hydraulic dump available, but the one my brother had installed on his was an electric screw type; worked great. In fact we would leave the tail gate down flat and he bolted a partial sheet of plywood in it that extended about 3 inches back past the tail gate to enlarge the capacity, then we'd load it with dirt with the FEL on the tractor until it was falling off all sides (couldn't overload it, but we tried/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif) and we could dump it "on the fly" then finish the spreading and leveling with the tractor.

I haven't seen the screw type. The one I mentioned is the hydraulic setup. Yep, I've already checked my inventory of wolmanized and metal for the side boards and length extension. Check out your local Kubota dealer for the packing crates they ship new tractors in. I had my dealer bring out the one my 2910 came in, and throw in a few others that were there. Some nice bolted/welded together square tubing and heavy rough cut wood framing. Since they throw the majority of that away he said to anytime give him a call and stop down and pick up what's there. It could be the start of a supply of tubing for projects. Or it could be a start of a junkyard stashed behind the Kubota house.
Well, looks like as usual with all my stuff, I'll be a cuttin', a weldin' a fabricatin' and a modifin' (ok...a cussin' too) this Sunday. She'll love that. Hey, that's what makes life fun. I've been eyeballin' my old custom rigid frame Harley and the Landpride tiller thinking that would make one helluva combination. Could till 20 acres in 20 minutes, flinging dirt into the next county.

I'd be a little partial to hydraulic, I think, just 'cause I like hydraulic stuff, but the electric screw was cheaper and we were never able to overload it.

And I noticed some of those crates that new Kubotas come in at the dealer one day and just assumed (always a mistake, right) that they sold them somewhere and I never asked about them. Sure looks like some nice metal there for do it yourselfers.

I'm partial to the hydraulic setup too. I'm not too much of a fluid engineer, but setting up a pump/cylinder off of an electric motor (eg: a Meyers snowplow system) isn't rocket science. I know the Meyers snowplow motor and electrics are the same starter motor/solenoid as my Harley, only cheaper (I've already scavenged from one to the other). And in actuality the solenoid is the same as the old 8 buck Ford starter solenoid. I'm just not sure if the motor winding is designed for a more constant use than starting the bike, or lifting/angling the plow.
