OK..........I have a 2005 B21 with less than 400 hours that spends most of it's life cooped up in the garage. Over the last year I have had difficulty starting this bugger and now I am just jumping the starter with a screw driver. I have been through and cleaned the ground cable, checked the battery strength and jumped out the two different safeties with no avail. I just read a post about adding a JD part to the ignition and this solves the problem.

Can anyone confirm this? Has anyone actually suffered the same problem as I found a different solutution?

Thanks.

You need to check and see if you are getting voltage to the starter when you turn the key if not check the safety switches (twice). If your getting less than 12v when you move to the start key they you may need a extra solenoid, but your start should not need one.

There are three safety switches.

1) Clutch pedal
2) PTO gear shift lever
3) Range gear shift lever (serial number below 60970)
4) HST pedal (serial number above 60971)
