Kubota B20. I recently installed a new clutch so split the tractor etc. Put in all new hydraulic fluid and filters, new engine oil and filter. 1st time working it the tractor seemed to get hot, water temp was ok, and then the engine bogged down so I shut it off. After a little research I checked the engine oil and it was overfull. The hydraulic oil was low. The engine oil does not smell like diesel. What would cause the hyd fluid to go into the engine? Could I have connected some hydraulic line wrong? All hydraulics seem to be working. I changed the engine oil so I could put the tractor into my shop. The hyd oil seemed hot for just running it 2 minutes. Thanks, Cloud

Your pump shaft seal is at fault.

Pull the hydraulic oil pump off and replace the rear seal which is allowing the oil to enter the motor reservoir. I don't know how the oil could have gotten that hot so quick .

Can you explain rear seal leaking and into the reservoir.

Are you sure item #60 is not leaking

If the real seal was leaking, it looks like you would see the leak on the pump and on the ground.

Thanks guys. I'll let you know what happens when I replace that seal. Cloud

What I meant by rear seal is rear of the pump where it hooks to the engine.
