As the title states I just purchased a 4 foot Bush hog for my B1750. Just wondering if I need an Over running clutch?
Thanks in advance
Mike

I looked in the parts manual, and it appears that the B1750 has an internal over running clutch, listed as "Cam, one way clutch" (#80 in the photo.

I am not an expert, so I recommend you either test your setup, or get an answer from a dealer.

I know the HST version does, the tractor data lists the HST as live and the gear as transmission. To test I guess we just spunk her up in a empty space and put in the clutch and see if it moves forward.
Thanks

Many years ago I put an over running coupler on my trusty B8200 (gear, 2wd). In hindsight, I believe it had an over running clutch built in. Other than potentially affecting the PTO shaft fit (unlikely though) there is no real penalty in adding a coupler.
Previous to the B8200 my limited tractor experience was on a Farmall H and Ford 9n... Which both needed the over running coupler.
TMI... sorry for rambling!!!

When I was learning as I was earning (yeah, right... chicken eggs), there were certain machines on the yard that would require PTO couplers. Sometimes I'd forget which machine needed it, and I'd just safely test it before actually going out and using the implement. If I did, I'd grab it off the other machine. The old man was cheap, that we only had 2 couplers and if I recall, 3 out of the 14 machines needed it.

Well I hooked up the rotary cutter to the B1750 gear and took her for a ride. I do not need the clutch. Pro stops spinning when main clutch is depressed, therefore no forward movement of the tractor with the clutch depressed. It's a good thing because the over running clutch wouldn't have fit I would have shortened the PTO shaft.
Thanks for the help
Mike
