It advertises it, but the websites don't show any of the lower-than-23-hp models.

My B2320 (HST) has 17.0 PTO HP with 23 gross HP.

I'm pissed with my JD 1025R and am entertaining either a 2025 or a Kubota. The tractor company I bought the JD from handles both JD and Kubota, but Kubota is way over in Orange, Va. Might be able to make a deal though.

Don't like the BX because of the underneath hydraulic cooling fan. With my use of it, I'm sure that I'd bust that cooling fan.

Had a JD 4010 which had an 18.5 hp diesel, more of less equivalent to a JD 2019E IF they made such. It provided great service and was completely adequate on hp. The drive line flex coupling busted about the time I was ready to trade for a new one anyway.

Does the B series have that ridiculous underfoot fuel filter that's on the BX series and the JD 1 series (maybe 2 as well; not sure)? Noticed the B series has the "inching" 3PH control, which I love on my JD 1025R. The 1025R also has a gentle start on the PTO. The abrupt start on the 4010's is probably what broke the drive coupler.

I bought my B2320 a year ago and have been very pleased so far (48 hours on the meter). I noticed that Kubota has a new model, the B2301, that is comparable in HP to the 2320 but has some additional features.

The fuel filter on the 2320 is on the RHS of the engine.

Addendum.

I did not buy a FEL for my 2320 because I have one on my utility tractor. Based on TBN advice, I added the front weight kit and 220 lbs. of weights to avoid doing "wheelies" when using 3PH attachments.

The Kubota B '20 series are discontinued, and have been replaced by the '01 series -- 2301 and 2601. The 2301 would be closest to the smaller size of the 1025R, but I'd say go with a 2601 for the extra width.

The B '20 series quarter-incher 3pt hitch valve is not the same as position control you have on the 1025R. The B '01 series upgraded to position control however, and will be like your Deere.

Ralph, Kubota sells "plainer" and lower hp tractors in the European market and elsewhere in the world, but not in the N American market where the 23 is the more preferred starting point.

The 18 hp is marketed in a BX model for that niche though.

Unless there has been some change, which I highly doubt, the 23 hp and 26 hp B 01 series machines are the same size. Part of the confusion with the specs on the 20 series B previously was that Kubota stated the length and width between the B2320 and B2620 being an inch or two different but it was a quirk. That discrepancy was merely caused by not comparing apples to apples. The data was stated with different tires, thus the small difference.

When speced with identical R4 tires and wheels, there's no length or width difference. Just one of the super odd things that became urban legend that the 23 was "slightly smaller" in frame to the 26. Not really.

That said, your guidance on the 1/4 inching versus the improved depth control is spot on worth making note.
