B&S Engine Starter Replaemnt

I am trying to replace a starter on a B&S 22HP motor (mod# 461707 Type 0143E1) on a 2000 Yardman. Bolts for old one are under flywheel and are un-accessible. Need directions or repair manual location.

hi top hat... i am working on a 14 hp b/s horizonal right now.. if your motor is horizonal , you are gonna have to pull the flywheel and coils to get to the top starter bolt.. good luck.. c falcon

If you turn the flywheel around there should be a spot with a recess that you should be able to get in with a box wrench.

The starter bolts of ALL B&S horizontally opposed engines are accessible WITHOUT removing the flywheel as indicated above, provided the bolts are original. I can send you a Service Manual for your engine IF you like. Address below, put in proper format and remind me engine model number and what you want.
