Thanks to all that helped me to decide on the B7500HST. It arrives on Tuesday. My new dilema is deciding between a MMM or a RFM. I have to mow approx 4 acres of open meadow with relatively few trees in the way. I am leaning towards a Woods rear discharge 60" RFM. Any thoughts? And again thanks to all- my first tractor, I can't wait.

Using a mmm on my 7500 to cut 3 acres takes just over an hour. Never tried the rear mower. The only trouble I have is attaching and removing it. The rear is probably easier.

For that much land I would go with the RFM. The MMM is just going to be a pain in the **** to take off and put back on. It is also more expensive. You will be happier with the RFM.

Thanks,
Knowles

welcome to the forum! get the RFM u are not cutting lawn , u are cutting grass, the rfm is much easier to remove and install. if u decide to go RFM get the rear discharge with chain guard.

I was talking mowers with a friend of mine the other week. I was using a SD the dealer lent me until my RD RFM came in and said to my buddy that the only thing I didn't like about it was that it seems to leave the grass in clumps. He used to own a landscaping business and now owns a campground (lots of acreage to mow) and said you won't see any landscapers using a RD because the SDs cut the grass finer because of the mower deck design and the blades throwing the grass towards the chute. I think my tractor tends to lug down more with the RD, too. There's lots of pros and cons for both. There was lots I didn't like about the SD while I was using one.
As far as mid or rear mount, the only advantage I can see to having a MM is you can attach a roller and roll your grass in the spring while you mow. The RM on the other hand is great for getting under bushes.

Bird has it.

I think the only topic that has had more attention than the MMM vs. RFM debate is how to use a boxblade (excluding that Chalkey thread). Do an "all word" search on "rfm mmm" and if you don't find the information you're looking for, I'll be a monkey's uncle.
