Hello Bo!

I found this forum a couple of weeks ago while deciding on a tractor. Just came upon your thread. Although I have not had a chance to read all 63 pages :) I wanted to say hello. We are somewhat neighbors. My wife and I just purchased some land north of I40 east of Seligman off of Crookton Rd. Just moved up in June. Starting the process you did a few years ago.
Again, just wanted to say hi!
Btw: your "cabin" is awesome

Welcome neighbor! We love it up here. Lots of deer, elk, fox, bobcat, javelina, and lots of quiet!
Send me some directions and I'll swing by on the way up or way back. We love taking that stretch of old 66.
You up here full time?
What did you decide on for a tractor?
Have any pictures yet?

Yes it is beautiful and everyone is very nice. I am up here full time and my wife travels back and forth to Phoenix for work. We live 16 miles off road on Westwood a Ranch. Not an easy drive to stop by. The entrance to the ranch is 9 miles west of Ash Fork.
We are getting a Mahindra 3616 with a FEL, backhoe and box blade.
Here is a pic of our views

I have two sides chinked in the last two days, with a helper mixing and me slapping it in. With an additional person tomorrow, we should finish it.

You may think that no one is keeping up with your thread any longer, but I am. The work you have done is amazing!! When you first started this thread I thought that it would be a easier task. Somehow you have overcome every obstacle that stood in your way. I would have not had the patience that you have shown throughout each task. Amazing feat in itself. I know that you have a busy schedule, but if you have time to post within this thread; we here a TBN are excited to see this thing come together every step of the way. There are others here 'experiencing' everything with you!
Don't forget the pics' ;)

Amen draj. Wow, Jimn and Bo, as an easterner, man, I'm a bit envious of that country! We never can see that far due to humidity here. On the other hand, how is the water in your areas? I guess you have a very deep well? Visiting Arizona is definitely on me old kick the bucket list. Pull me trailer, stay a while and find somewhere to trout fish! And, look at that desert.

Thanks drajj and Mac. Sometimes I wonder if anyone who use to be interested moved on.

I was away for about 10 days for business. This morning I had a local kid scheduled to come and mix mud so I could slap in more chinking. Instead I told him to take the day off and I tractored all day. :)
Yesterday I realized that I was so tied up in the project/build that I almost forgot why I bought the place. It's an escape from the rat race of the city. When I have Scott on site we work our tails off all day, everyday. But since he was gone for a few days, I just put the normal agenda on hold and went out and played on my tractor all day.
Cleaned up some landscaping, cleared out some ditches, graded around the build site, and just had fun.

Here's a shot of the back wall, with the chinking done. Of course we will have to chink a little after we put the windows in.

Please don't mistake a lack of posts for a lack of interest. I very much enjoy your thread. I totally understand about enjoying the space.

I read it every time new posts pop up (I get email notifications). I just don't post a lot. Too much to do on my own house project...to the point that I haven't even updated my own thread in months. I'm just slammed between that and work, and i also forget to take pics enough as I am too frazzled and it is often dark by the time I leave, especially this time of year ...and for the next 8 months.

I hear that!
Days are getting shorter way too fast. And it's going to start getting chilly in the evening soon. :(

I am also regularly lurking around. Sort of an electronic "fence over-peeker."

I have nothing productive to contribute so I don't post, but I am definitely enjoying the build.

Bo, you see where this is going...LOTS & LOTS of folks (me included) love getting our Email notifications that YOU have posted on your progress. I think most, out of respect for continuity of the thread, don't post replies...but don't think people have lost interest. Here's the stats as of now: 636 posts and 86,756 views, that's a lot of traffic for people that don't care. You're doing a great job, so keep it up and here's a pat on the back from me. P.S. I just broke ground on a 30x50 steel building east of Tombstone (part of our future homestead)...not as "hands on" as you but it's my first big project and I get the same sense of excitement and anxiety.

Bo

Everyone still is interested in your project
It gives me a warm heart to see ones labor of love turn into his castle

Keep up the good work
and you deserve a day or two of tractor playing

Bo,
What are you using for clinking? I think MotorSeven asked this question a while back.
