Cut the top off the Ford "C3Z...." inline trani filter that was on my E350 this morning.

The magnet was doing its job (fine deposits), and cartridge element was definitely used (black, but not chunky).

Magnefine OEM'd these filters for Ford, I replaced it with their R038M, 3/8" for my 2001.

Showed the cracked open old filter to a mechanic buddy of mine, he liked the design, and the bypass spring setup - after he checks with Magnefine on some flow rate questions he has (he works on literally everything), he'll likely order a bunch for his shop/personal use.

I dug through my notes from talking with Magnefine last Fall, the bypass on these filters are setup for 5psi.

The filter seems to have performed well at catching the small stuff the pan filter doesn't, and has survived some light physical stress on my truck (not the best location/mount originally).

I'm definitely going to continue using this on my E350 trani line, and would be comfortable using it on the PS on any of my vehicles.

Rgds, D.
