Just got a new JD3520 which came with the normal cruise control feature consisting of the set/off switch. I see in many of the JD sales web sites that you can buy a Automotive Cruise/Motion Match upgrade kit which contains the other switches for these features. My question is... are these features plug and play, meaning if I buy the switch kit and install it to the wiring harness, does that give me the features, or is there a software upgrade that has to be done to complete the add on. The description on the kit does not elaborate on any other requirements to access the new features.

I have heard that is has to be "enabled" with the JD service tool. I think it's probably true, since on the stock setup, LoadMatch and MotionMatch are enabled/disabled and configured through the display. With the upgraded cruise, there are switches added for that, so I'm thinking that it would have to be "told" of the change. You could try some jumper wires to see if it works.
I've thought about it, but haven't got around to it yet.
Another question I have is if you have to add the LoadMatch Switch and Motion Match switches, or if you can just add the extra switches for the upgraded cruise, and leave the LoadMatch controlled through the display. My problem is that I don't have enough cutout for all the switches, since the 4x20's have a switch for eThrottle, and I have a switch for the 3rd SCV.

Arlen,
I am not so sure that it needs to be enabled. I installed the kit in my 4520 when I got it home, pretty much plug and play. For the $100 bucks it was a good upgrade imo.

That's good to know. Steve, did you install the other switches for enabling/disabling Load Match, or just the switches for cruise?

Arlen,
IIRC I removed the original cruise switch and installed three new switches in the kit. So the upgrade winds up needing two additional holes. I also installed the rear wiper switch and rear work light switch and still have a couple of spaces left over. I don't have a fel on my 4520 so I use the joystick to control the top n tilt and have a third remote with lever. So I am not using electric switches for the hydraulics as on your tractor.
