Posthole Digger auger shaft diameter

I just bought a posthole digger that came with 3 augers. The PHD is a Danuser F-8 that has a 2 1/2" diameter shaft that comes out of the gear box to attach an auger. Two of the augers have female ends that slide right over the 2 1/2" shaft. The third auger has a male end that is 3" diameter. Is this third auger for another brand PHD? Is there an adapter that would attach the 3" male (auger) to a 2 1/2" male (PHD)?

After looking more closely, the PHD spindle is 2 9/16" diameter.
