Auchon Tractors ??

Check some of the sites that sell used tractors to figure what your maximum buyers price should be. Most equipment dealers will give you a 30 day warranty. Auction prices should be lower than what dealers sell used for. In my own experience I went to two auctions prior to buying the tractor I bought new in 2004. I found the audience had no clue what used pricing should be and way overbid for most everything they were selling. At the time I was looking for both a trailer and a compact tractor. The used trailers (2 at each auction) sold for more than I could buy them new for plus they had damage and missing parts. The tractors sold for 2-3,000 more than I thought they should have. I figured if I added 3-4K to what the used ones sold for I'd get a new one with warranty.

Boy that is surprising. I figured they have auctions to get rid of junk they can't sell off the lot. I thought things would go for way less because of the risk factor. But then again I am usually wrong when it comes to figuring human nature. I know in my case that I am going to be very conservative. At least it will be a learning experience.

Longer used inventory sets on there lot the more $$'s they lose..kinda fine time line.

Ha Ha, I don't even know what happened to it. Had it checked out Friday am. They had the auction set up so you could bid on-line live Sat, which I got approval for just in case. Saturday morning we woke up to 6" of snow and still coming so I decided to stay home and bid on-line rather than driving 75 miles each way again. Well the on-line stuff seemed to go OK for a while then they started skipping lots then it quit all together about 1:30 and that tractor had not come up yet. They don't list it in the auction results either. I will call tomorrow just out of curiousity. After watching the live video stream they had and seeing the final prices I have pretty much decided the auction route is not for me.

Is that the Asian spelling of auction? Never seen it spelled like that!

I'll be the first to admit it. My curiosity got the best of me. When the thread appeared I thought somebody else got into the "let's import and re-name another batch of Chinese tractors" game and I didn't have any interest in it. The joke was on me.

Every time I have bid on equipment at an auction it goes much higher then it should. Add in the fact you have no idea how the item was serviced, etc. I think you can find a better unit at a dependable dealer or private owner for less money.

The auctioneer wasn't skipping around. The bidding on line would work for a while and then be off and skip a few items then come back on. Then it finally stopped completely at about 1:30. It was interesting how they made it so you could bid on line against others buyers bidding live right at the auction site. While the on-line was working it was pretty good. You had on your home computer an audio and video of the auction and a button which continually updated and showed the next price increment. To bid all you had to do was click the button. Was fast and easy but I guess something went wrong.
