ATV Tires

I have a BearTracker 4X2 that I use around the property for transportation, spraying, hauling, etc. The vast majority of use is on gravel and asphalt. The original tires are worn and need to be replaced. They are AT22 7x10 front and 10x10 rear. It is almost never used off road.

I was trying to determine what type of tire would give me the best traction and wear for my type of use. All the tires I see online have pretty aggressive tread for off road use. Is there something available specifically for an ATV or should I consider "lawn tractor" type tires?

i really don't know the real name to them but the tire pattern is like this in the middle of the tire it has a chevron desgn and on the side it has a demple type nobbie. those seem to work best for yard work . they don't do much damage and they bite really good. we called them "wooly boogers" growing up.

looks like they are called "stryker" tires i think you can buy them at walmart still too.

haha, before i finished your reply, i was thinking wooly buggers......

they really did make a tire named that back in the day...

dick cepek makes a smilar pattern but they are getting a bit harder to find and dick was always proud of his tires!

i had a set of surtracks on a 400ex and i'll tell ya, they are still my favorite tire.....they were great, very puncture resistant, great in mud, pretty good on hard pack......

there are some other brands, now, that have a similar pattern but all of them still have fairly deep lugs compared to what i think you are wanting.....

just search some of the atv tire website.......i feel you're wanting something even more turf friendly

the ones i posted a picture of hve threads the dept of about 5/8"-3/4" thats not bad at all and they are close together as long as the reaend isn't a locking rearend your ok . i never seen anyone gouge up their yard with a set of these on.but if you get into some sloppy mud they will sling it .lol

The Carlisle HD Fieldtrax tires are nice all-purpose tires.

The Kenda Bearclaw is said to be a great all around tire, Kinda pricey, but lots of people swear by them for every use except seriouse mud

yea don't get the bear claws for mud.lol unless you got a winch.

being that you are using it on gravel and asphalt, I would look into a 6ply tire. I took the spongy tires off mine as it felt like I was balancing on a beach ball when riding at any speed at all. going with the stiffer side walls of the heavier tire sure made a difference.
