Quick Hitches Attachment Limits of Tractor - Inches or weight

This is mainly in regards to a box blade, but when it comes to the implement limits outlined in my owners manual should I pay more attention to the limit in inches or the limit on weight?
For example: I have a Kubota L2800 and the manual says for a box blade the limit is 52 inches max cutting width and 694 pounds weight limit. Now King Kutter makes a 48 inch box blade and a 60 inch box blade. So my width limit is in-between those two. The weight on the 60 incher is 415 pounds. Thanks in advance.

I would pay most attention to the weight limit. You may have trouble pulling if too wide tho. That 60" lightweight should not be a problem unless it bends. A hassle - not a danger.

For most implements it is nice if they are at least as wide as the tractor. Box blades frequently cause a lot of discussion. Weight helps these cut ground better and work better for counter weight when using a loader. This same weight can also make the front end light depending on your tractor model. The width helps cover tire tracks especially when turning.

I would buy at least 2" wider than the outside tread of the tractor. If cutting a hill down, you don't want your tires running on a high side after the first cut. You can always cut a little thinner with each pass if it is hard to pull. Buy the heaviest implement that your tractor can lift comfortably.

My manual states 6' width box blade for my tractor, and I believe 900lbs. I have a 6.5' wide 1,000lb box blade. It also specs 900 lb max weight for a rotary cutter, mine weighs just over 1,100 lbs. I would buy the one that covers your tracks and see if they have a bit heavier duty.

Some manufacturers make a 54" boxblade too, Cammond and Frontier come to mind. I would find a boxblade at the upper limits of your weight capacity wide enough to cover your tracks with a little left over.

Kubota has some of that stuff underrated.

I would go with a 60" or 66" box blade on your tractor. The more pounds per inch it weighs the better it will work.

Thanks for all the advice. I ended up with a 60 inch because for this I did want to at least cover my tires.
