Snow attaching the BX 2750 snow blower

I'm the new owner of a BX 25 and purchased the BX 2750D snow blower with a quik hitch attachment. I changed out the blower for the FEL and now I'm fighting to get the quik hitch shaft hooked back up. There is not enough room the get my hands up in there to hold back the retaining ring. Whats the easiest way to hook the shaft back up?
