Attaching Kubota mmm RCK54-23BX to BX2380

I'm a pretty small and weak (especially after OHS) guy and I have a very difficult time attaching or removing the PTO shaft from my mower deck to the tractor. Anyone have any "tricks" that make it easier?

I just lay down on my back and slide head first under the rear end with the proper magnification glasses on. Sometimes I wear some old cotton gloves to get a better grip. I'm over 90 YO, 5'2" 140 lbs.

I’ve found that making sure there’s grease on both the pto shaft end and the coupler/receiver helps alot. Same with making sure the part of the pto shaft where the extension slides in and out is also greased. Even just WD40 helps.

Basically you just want every part to move around real easily.

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I'm approximately the same weight and height, but a lot younger (77!). I've thought of doing what you suggest, but the BX2380 is smaller than the 2650, so very little room under the transmission.

Yep, I thought of that....after....I posted. It's been 13 years since I owned a BX model........

Now what? Darned if I know........except using plenty of lubricant and maybe some old gloves for grip.

My problem with hooking up the pto shaft is the slide collar. It is very stiff and hangs up. Don't really wnt to lube it because of the dust attraction. Any suggestions? Jon
