Kubota BX2380/LA344 loader/60" MMM, Bobcat S185 skid steer, JD X394 4 wheel steer mower
Been checking out an ATI Tach All Universal Skid Steer Quick Attach Hitch along with a Construction Attachments 60 inch bucket to convert the pin on bucket for an LA403 loader on a Kubota B3030. Looking at the items on Everythingattachments.com
I'm thinking I'd almost rather get the bucket for $463 than spend $219 for a bucket bracket and then have to take the bucket to a shop and have the factory brackets cut off and the new one welded onto the stock bucket.
Is this the way to go or does someone make a skid steer type bucket bracket that would pin onto the stock bucket brackets? Seems as though that may push the bucket out a couple of inches further beyond the lift arms, thus reducing some lift capacity if there is such an item. However, I don't give it much heavy duty use and the convenience may be worth it.
I dredged up an old TBN thread on the subject and came up with a Kubota part #B2365 but internet searches turn up no such part for Kubota's quick attach. Plus there is an issue that it may not be a universal SS fit.

I have a L35 tlb and put a Horst quick attach on it. I still have my old bucket and made my own brackets so it would fit the skid steer plate. Unfortunately it doesn't work very well because like you say the bucket is now out way too far and it won't lift crap without lifting the back wheels of the tractor off the ground. I bought a used skid steer bucket and am using it for now. I hate to cut apart a new Kubota bucket to convert it so it's sitting in the field. I really like the quick attach and change implements alot. I am considering trading in my bucket at the local Kubota dealer for something I need.
So far I have:
10' snow blade.
fork lift.
3' wide and 4' long concrete bucket.
manure fork.
manure rubber scrapper blade.

I know what you mean. I'm not too hot on cutting up a perfectly good factory bucket either. Come to think of it, I have a friend who works at the local Bobcat dealer. Maybe he'd stumble upon a used bucket one of these days.

JJZ..... i converted mine to SSQA awhile also. Do you weld at all? I ended up paying a local shop to cut my factory brackets off of my stock bucket (versus me fighting with them), and i scratch built the SS style mount for the back of the bucket. The most economical way is to buy the SSQA bracket(s) off of Ebay though..... usually around $100 +shipping. Though you can certainly use a skidsteer bucket, the problem is they are much deeper than your tractor bucket..... bringing the leverage factor back into it. And.... they are usually a little shorter on the back, leaving less spill protection (onto your hood). Not to mention the added weight of skidsteer buckets, because they are thicker. I do see a few used skidsteer buckets on CL for sale..... though most of them are pretty beat.

My free advice is....... dont bother keeping your original bucket intact so you can switch back some day. Once you see how quick and easy it is to swap from bucket to forks to whatever other front attachments you have, you will NEVER think about switching back to that pin on bucket !!

P.S. Adding the SSQA to my loader was definitely the single best modification I've ever done to my tractor. I gay-ron-tee you will wish you had done it sooner !

All I've got is a little 120 volt wire feed welder, and I'm not yet proficient enough with it to tackle such a job. So the added expense of having a shop do it would be factored into my situation.
Maybe it's just the appearance, but your bucket looks massively heavy with that plate work on it. How much did it increase your weight?
I just heard back from Rick at Everythingattachments.com. The ATI unit will be $849 for the LA403. Not sure how that compares with the Kubota unit. And as I mentioned earlier, not sure if the Kubota quick attach is universal so that it can be used with any other skid steer attachments. I'm also not having any luck searching the net for that B2365 part #. Incorrect or discontinued maybe?
Responses have been a little slow coming on this issue, I wonder how many others have converted and what route they took?
PS - Nice pic of the golden retriever! I've got an old golden girl hanging out with me.

When I was looking for a used Kubota bucket, a dealer from NY said they usually get about half the new price. If you could sell your present bucket for something like that price you'd have the best setup at a reasonable net price.

I agree with Ductape on avoiding a skidsteer bucket on a compact tractor. Those skidsteer curl cylinders are bigger and operate at higher pressure so they can get away with the extended lip.

Rick says that an average welder can do the conversion of the factory bucket. I'll have to mull it over for a day or two and decide if I can tackle it. I'll just have to make sure that the acetylene torch tanks are full!
If I can do it, it'll save some money as well as saving me from having an extra bucket taking up space in the barn.
