Why blame the dealer? How is he supposed to know how much you know or don't know?
Bushings usually need to be reamed after pressing them in and you don't need a machine shop to do it.
What I do is use a socket to drive the new ones in and then sand them to fit myself.
Take a piece of 3/8" or 1/2" rod and make a cut in it lengthwise. Then go to Home Depot and buy a roll of plumber's sanding cloth. Wrap the sanding cloth around the rod you made, put the rod in your drill and then sand the bushing till it fits. Sand, test, sand, test, etc.
I always have sanding cloth here so my total cost was about 15 cents.
