Hi folks,
About my TZ25DA, 4 years in, backhoe, 48" lawnmower, back blade.
I like it, emotionally attached to my 'Little Blue', the engine is great ... HOWEVER:
- Next to Zero power in 'Hi' a 5degree grade is too much
- Zero power in 'Hi' reverse.... a softball size hump is enough to stop it
- Not fast in 'Hi', Frustratingly slow in low especially in winter temp's
- Hydraulics very slow in summer temp's slower in winter
I am at a crossroad - Do I look into 'fixing issues' with retrofits/increasing hydraulic oil lines, summer & winter hydraulic oils for the hydrostatic OR trade the whole *?~!@... package for 'a better worker'.
Comments/opinions appreciated

Have you checked that the brakes aren't sticking on?

So far, I don't suspect sticking brakes ... when the brake is on the engine strains more than it should there's a le pitch difference.

Yes pretty much, brutally slow and not strong at all in reverse. I bought it with 400hrs. It's at 800hrs now. I changed all the filters and oils twice.

Does it have a sump screen in the trans case?

Sixdogs' Q sent me to the manual about a sump screen there doesn't appear to be one just filters and I changed those within the last 100hrs of use. I'm thinking I have viscosity issues. I have HYDRAUL 56 in it now, summer/winter. I'm in -30 C temps now. HYDRAUL 50 has a lower temp range. New Holland recommends AMBRA G 134, and F200, something I need to look up.

I had a TZ25 until last summer, I loved it. I find that the TZ Boomers are a glorified lawn mower. Do you use high revs when operating? I found as long as you keep the revs up nice and high it wasn't too bad. I bought a B2320 Kubota last summer, 3 speed transmission helps a lot, it's a much stronger built tractor. There is a big difference between a compact and a sub compact tractor.
