asphalt milling cost

Pea gravel? I kind of like it as a top coat but yes it doesn’t pack in. In my area milling has some value but I don’t know how much.

I paid $11/ton for millings last year when I made a parking area for my truck and trailer. I picked it up, and got 12 tons total (4 loads). It was at an asphalt batch plant.

$1000 per load?!?! Wow. I bet they were searching for a place to get rid of it too. Batch plant can recycle the millings but there is a maximum amount allowed in typical state mixes. Varies by state, but most batch plants want to get rid of millings because large road re-paving projects generate much more millings than can be re-used in the equivalent new asphalt. Places around here have HUGE stockpiles. Not too many new highways and parking lots vs re-paving.

its a common thing of guys driving around and trying to sell left overs from projects, its actually how i got my driveway paved for cheaper..

Yeah my neighbor did the same.
