Army Worms in hay patch

Yeah, it was a shock to all us guys here in New York too. We are very lucky in that we don't usually have any pests to worry about with our hay fields so we don't even think about it. We didn't realize we had a problem till it was way too late. I lost around 40% of my hay fields. There is nothing but stems left so all I am going to do is run a rotary cutter over them and keep an eye on things the rest of the year. When I saw the problem was so extensive I just started cutting everything near the worst hit areas and tried to salvage as much as I could. I do feel bad for you guys who have to deal with these pests on a yearly basis
