The hydro drive on my old (but new to me) Ariens GT18 comes to a gradual stop under a load, then takes off on a straightaway. I did the service manual routine to adjust it but only made it worse. Any advice for a newbie on how to proceed? I have checked hydro oil level, changed the filter and looked for leaks (found none). It would help if I understood what the eccentric "cam" bolt does, which is one of the hydro drive adjustments discussed in the service manual. I don't want to start thrashing around and changing things without knowing what I'm doing. I cannot find an Ariens hydro gauge to check the system pressure--anybody know where I can find one?
